It all began when Jenn signed up for an account on a
virtual pets
website in January 2003. The site introduced her to basic HTML concepts
and the art of proper design. After this sparked her interest in
computers, she went on to create small fansites in 2004 and 2005. By
2007, she expanded her realm of expertise and dabbled in graphic
design. She went on to create dozens of flyers for local high
school
bands and other events. That summer she was selected to attend
Microsoft’s Digi-Girlz camp in Charlotte, North Carolina. In her
junior year of high school, she enrolled in an HTML course. Here
she
received proper training and was chosen to be the web assistant for the
2008-2009 school year. Also in 2008, she joined the Future
Business
Leaders of America and competed against other students across the state
in Web Site Development. She swept past the regional competition
and
made it to the state level, placing fourth. Contrary to what you may
believe, Jenn is not solely interested in computers. She
was also a
member of the Marching Cougar band for four years and has been a
musician for nine. Her primary instrument is the flute but she
also
plays the bass guitar. For many years she’s also been a
dedicated
vegetarian and Girl Scout.
